1. Introduction & Our Commitment

Caulden is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data responsibly and transparently.

For the purposes of applicable data protection law, Caulden acts as the data controller in relation to the personal information collected through caulden.uk. We process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection requirements, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation where applicable.

We never sell, rent or trade your personal data to third parties.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect personal information that you provide directly to us when you place an order, contact customer support, create or use an account, subscribe to marketing communications, or otherwise interact with our website.

This information may include your name, email address, billing address, shipping address, telephone number, order details, and payment-related information necessary to complete your transaction.

Payment transactions are processed through our authorised payment providers. Caulden does not store your full payment card details.

We may also collect certain information automatically when you visit or use our website, including your IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, pages visited, referring pages, interaction data, and information collected through cookies and similar technologies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal data where necessary to process and fulfil your orders, provide customer support, communicate with you about your purchase, send transactional emails, manage returns or refunds, prevent fraud, and perform our contractual obligations to you.

Where you have provided consent, we may use your contact information to send marketing communications, promotional updates, product information, or other commercial messages. You may withdraw your consent or unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.

We may also use aggregated or anonymised information for analytics, reporting, performance measurement, service improvement, and business planning. Where data has been properly anonymised so that it can no longer identify you, it is not treated as personal data.

4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate correctly, remember preferences, understand how visitors interact with the site, measure performance, and support advertising activities.

Strictly necessary cookies are required for the website and checkout to function and cannot be disabled through our systems where their use is essential to provide the service you requested.

Analytical and advertising cookies may be used in connection with platforms such as Meta, Google Ads and TikTok to measure website activity, understand campaign performance, and provide more relevant advertising.

Where required, a cookie consent tool will be presented on your first visit so that you can manage non-essential cookies and tracking technologies.

5. Order Fulfilment & Third-Party Services

Caulden uses Shopify to provide website infrastructure, checkout functionality, commerce services and related technical support. Shopify may process personal data on our behalf in connection with these services.

Payments may be processed through Shop Pay, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay and other supported payment providers. These providers process payment information in accordance with their own security and privacy requirements. Caulden does not store full card details.

To support efficient fulfilment and delivery, orders may be processed through operational facilities located in the United States, China and Germany. This distributed fulfilment structure allows us to route orders through the most appropriate available centre based on operational requirements and delivery efficiency. All products are subject to the same quality control standards regardless of fulfilment location.

Shipping carriers receive only the information reasonably necessary to deliver your order, such as your name, delivery address and relevant contact details.

We may also use Meta, Google Ads and TikTok technologies, including advertising pixels and cookies, to measure campaign performance and support advertising activities where permitted by law.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including order fulfilment, customer service, legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting and record-keeping obligations.

Order and transaction records may be retained for the period required under applicable tax, accounting, consumer and commercial record-keeping laws.

Where you submit a valid request for deletion, we will process the request in accordance with applicable law and respond within the legally required timeframe, subject to any information we are required or permitted to retain.

7. Your Rights Under Data Protection Law

Depending on the laws that apply to you, you may have rights in relation to your personal data, including the right to request access to your data, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion, request restriction of processing, object to certain processing, request data portability, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

You may also have the right to object to direct marketing at any time and to request information about how your personal data is processed.

To exercise your rights, contact us at support@caulden.uk. We aim to acknowledge data privacy requests within 48 hours and provide a full response within 30 days, subject to applicable legal requirements and any permitted extensions.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request in order to protect your information from unauthorised access or disclosure.

8. International Data Transfers

Because Caulden works with service providers, technology providers, fulfilment partners and payment providers operating in multiple countries, your personal data may be transferred to and processed outside your country of residence.

Where required by applicable law, international data transfers are protected using appropriate legal safeguards, which may include Standard Contractual Clauses, International Data Transfer Agreements, adequacy decisions, or other legally recognised transfer mechanisms.

Where applicable, such processing remains subject to the oversight of the competent supervisory authority in the relevant jurisdiction.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or misuse.

Our website and checkout environment use SSL/TLS encryption to protect data transmitted between your device and our systems.

Our store operates on Shopify infrastructure, which provides security measures designed to support the protection of ecommerce and transaction data.

If a personal data breach occurs, we will investigate and respond promptly and will comply with applicable notification and reporting obligations.

10. Children's Privacy

Our website and services are not directed at children under the age of 16.

We do not knowingly seek to collect personal data from children below the applicable age threshold without the legally required authorisation.

If you believe that a child has submitted personal data to us without appropriate permission, please contact support@caulden.uk so that we can review the matter and, where appropriate, delete the information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, legal requirements, technology, or business operations.

When this policy is updated, the revised date will appear at the top of this page.

Your continued use of our website following the publication of an updated policy will be treated as acceptance of the revised policy to the extent permitted by applicable law.
